Biography
Gifted with a rich, sensual timbre, an expressive vocal line and a powerful stage presence, Grazia Liotta is developing an artistic career that combines musical rigour with human depth.
An Italian-Swiss mezzo-soprano, she initially pursued a career in the medical field, specialising in the early diagnosis of breast diseases in Italy and Switzerland, before devoting herself fully to operatic singing. This unconventional background now informs a deeply embodied artistic approach.
After first approaching music through the pop and folk repertoires, she turned to classical music, studying music theory at the Geneva Conservatory and receiving her vocal training at the Scuola Musicale di Milano. She currently continues her studies in New York with Bill Schuman and develops her interpretative work with Alexandre Païta.
She has performed the role of Carmen in Milan (ADADS, 2023) and in Martigues in the production Quintessence of Carmen (2025). She has also taken part in Suor Angelica in Sarzana and performed the role of Cherubino in La Spezia.
In 2021, she gave an orchestral recital at the National Philharmonic Theatre of Kyiv, devoted to the works of Verdi and Donizetti.
She was a semifinalist in the Premier Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition in New York in 2024 and 2025 and, in 2026, won First Prize at the Tiziano Rossetti International Music Competition.
Grazia Liotta continues to pursue her artistic career between Europe and New York, with a particular focus on the theatrical dimension of singing and authenticity of interpretation.
